QUERNEY, Shirley Eleanor (nee Richmond) In loving memory of Shirley Eleanor Querney (nee Richmond), 70 years. It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Querney announces her death in Sudbury on May 2nd, 2002, after a difficult battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Alan Querney of Sudbury. Loving mother of Tom (wife Joanne), John (wife Ene). Susan (husband Nick Koutsoukis) and Bill (wife Tamara) all of Sudbury. Loving grandmother of Jennifer, Jill, "A.J.", Paige, Demitri, Alexander, Kea and Aristo. Loving daughter of Harold and Adelyne Richmond both predeceased. Dear sister of Yvonne (husband Gord Prueter) and Judy (husband David Cohen) both of London and Phylis Quick (husband Len predeceased) of Oakville. Shirley was born on January 28, 1932, in London, Ontario, the second daughter of Harold and Adelyne Richmond. She was a graduate of the Victoria Hospital School of Nursing, Class of Ô54. Shirley married Alan Querney in 1954, and after living in Toronto moved to Alan’s home town of Sudbury in 1957, where she and Alan raised their family and made their home. Shirley was a homemaker extraordinaire who also enjoyed playing bridge, tennis, golf and the piano. Shirley particularly enjoyed her winter home in Florida, where she and Alan golfed daily and spent memorable moments in the company of good friends. Shirley’s strength and grace and the wonderful moments around her dining room table will be missed by many. She will never be forgotten. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Service in St. Andrew’s United Church, 111 Larch St., Sudbury, Saturday, May 4th, 2002 at 3 p.m. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium. Donations to the Heart and Soul Cancer Services/Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated. (Friends may call 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Friday and after 1 p.m. Saturday).
