Gloria REBUS

Desjarlais: Gloria Desjarlais (nee Rebus), born March 26, 1945, slipped away peacefully at the Drumheller Hospital in the arms of her beloved husband Glen, surrounded by her loving family. Gloria fought a courageous battle with cancer and will be missed by all. Left to celebrate her life are her husband and soul mate Glen; her children Rolland Chapin, Jason (Cheryl) Merkowsky, Vincent Merkowsky; her step-children Kelly, Marty, Kimberly, Mark, and Jennifer; her Daughter-in-law Melanie; and her eight precious grandchildren Katie, Patrick, Alita, Alex, Jayson, Emilee, Cheyenne, and Frankie. She is also survived by, and will be missed dearly by, her mother Mary Rebus; three loving sisters, Judy (Gene) Ostrowski, Mary-Anne (Alan) Farmer, and Holly (Mark); six loving brothers Terry (Susan), Gene (Elaine), Brian (Barb), Robert (Renee), Kenneth, Mark (Debbie); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gloria was pre-deceased by her father Joseph on December 23, 1989, as well as her infant son Brent and infant daughter Holly. Gloria worked at the Drumheller District Health Services Complex for the last 17 years and was looking forward to retirement. Her many pleasures in life included a love for ceramics (which she taught out of her home), traveling, Country and Western Jamborees, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. In celebration of GloriaÕs life, relative and friends are invited to a Prayer Vigil, Wednesday, January 9, 2002 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, January 10, 2002 at 2:00 P.M., at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, the Rev. Daniel Stevenot celebrant.
