Leopolda SIMONCINI

MOZZON, Leopolda "Poldina" (nee Simoncini) In loving memory of Leopolda "Poldina" (nee Simoncini) Mozzon, 88 years of Sudbury who passed away Thursday morning, June 20th, 2002 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. Born in Copper Cliff, she married Francesco "Frank" Mozzon in 1938 in Copper Cliff. A longtime Byng St. resident, Leopolda had worked at the Cooper Cliff Hospital for 8 years. A devout Roman Catholic, she had attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church for many years and she was a member of the parish Ladies Auxiliary. In recent time she was a member of St. Patrick’s Church. A well respected member of the local Italian Community, she had been a member of the Copper Cliff Italian Club and a founding member of the Caruso Club. Leopolda was devoted to her loving family. She took great pride and interest in the activities and accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. Beloved wife of Francesco "Frank" Mozzon predeceased 1963. Loving mother of Nello (wife Mary), Lucy (husband Jack Latta) and Frances all of Sudbury and the late Leonora Smith predeceased 1991 (husband Barry of Sudbury). Cherished grandmother of Laura (husband Robert Saullo), Frank (wife Carla), Jack Jr. (wife Jennifer), Joey (fiancee Denise), Shelley Cosar, Stewart (wife Mary) and 12 great grandchildren. Dear daughter of Duilio and Adelgisa Simoncini predeceased. Dear sister of Paul of Toronto, Nellie Beltrame (husband John) of Waterloo and the late Jean Gravelle and Ottello both predeceased. Sadly missed by loving nieces and nephews. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, 39 Walford Rd., Sudbury on Monday, June 24th, 2002 at 10 a.m. Interment in the Sudbury Catholic Cemetery.
