Peacefully at Meadowcroft Place, London, Ontario, on Tuesday, January 15, 2002, Catherine Louise (Halladay) formerly of Victoria, Mississauga and Beaconsfield. Catherine was born in Regina September 5, 1923. She graduated with Hons. B. Comm. (Manitoba), earning the Gold Medal for academic standing. She was also a member of the Winnipeg's Women's War Canoe Team that won National Championships. Beloved wife of the late Peter Alexander McDiarmid (1994). Catherine and Peter traveled to Scotland many times throughout their marriage beginning with a honeymoon trip on a bicycle built for two. An avid gardener and walker, Catherine was active well into her later years. She is the dear mother of Allison Callard and her husband Peter of London, Paula D'Auria of Oakville, Ian McDiarmid and his wife Sandy of Barrie, Lorne McDiarmid of Canmore, Alberta and Ted McDiarmid and his wife Janet Crockett of Windsor, Nova Scotia. Loved grandmother of Cole, Zachary, Deanna, Shandy, Jesse, Iain and Erin. Dear sister of Muir Halladay and wife Claire of Victoria and Lorne Halladay and his wife Marge of Mississauga. Also survived by four nieces and their families: Pat, Barbara and Linda, all of Victoria and Judy of Beamont, Alberta. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
